The objective was to create a hands-on demonstration experience that clearly showcased the difference between standard screen reflections and Samsung’s glare reducing display technology.
The Challenge
OLED technology is often difficult to communicate through traditional retail graphics alone. The challenge was to create a simple but effective physical demonstration that instantly helped customers understand the benefit of glare reduction in a busy store environment filled with overhead lighting and screen reflections.
At the same time, the toolkit needed to be portable, durable and intuitive for Samsung’s retail representatives, allowing them to deliver consistent demonstrations across multiple store locations.
The solution centred around a tactile demo experience built specifically to encourage interaction. Rather than relying purely on messaging, the concept focused on letting the technology speak for itself through live comparison and controlled lighting demonstrations.
A key part of the project was designing the physical interaction itself. The toolkit allowed representatives and customers to actively test how different lighting conditions affected screen visibility, creating a far more memorable and persuasive retail experience than traditional point-of-sale graphics alone.
The internal packaging system was carefully designed to organise each component cleanly while reinforcing Samsung’s premium positioning through structure, spacing and material presentation.
The Outcome
The final toolkit transformed a technical product feature into a simple, engaging and highly visual retail experience. By combining packaging design, experiential thinking and product storytelling, the system helped bridge the gap between technology and customer understanding in-store.
The project demonstrated how thoughtful physical design can elevate retail communication, turning a complex product benefit into something immediate, interactive and easy to experience firsthand.
